Since March 2020, Philanthropy WV has created and updated this resource center providing extensive best practices, relief fund information, and how to mobilize a strong collaborative approach for WV’s citizens and communities.
West Virginia’s philanthropic sector has been collaborating at all levels with nonprofits, citizens, businesses, and government to respond to the pandemic and economic downturn. A few highlights of the work includes:
- Providing ongoing support and resources to philanthropy, nonprofits, business, and government on best crisis response practices and partnerships to respond to the needs
- Convening and support local and regional COVID response/relief funds managed by community foundations and united ways
- Statewide COVID Match fund deployed support among the state’s local relief funds supporting hundreds of nonprofits. Check out the summary here
- Launching a funder collaboration with national and local foundations to remove degree completion hurdles for traditional and adult in Appalachia. Check out details here
We are providing ongoing assistance and support as the pandemic continues and moving to recovery and rebuilding. Philanthropy WV members access all past recorded COVID-19 response webinars hosted since March 2020 via our members’ portal.
