Philanthropy West Virginia is growing. Recenly, Philanthropy WV welcomed two new leadership team members: Sharell Harmon as Membership and Operations Assistant and Chad Matlick as Director of Operations and Revenue.
“We are excited to welcome Sharell and Chad to our team. Philanthropy WV is honored to have their expertise and skill joining our dynamic team to strengthen our state,” shares Paul D. Daugherty, president and chief executive officer of Philanthropy WV.
Sharell Harmon– Sharell Harmon moved from Northern Virginia to North Central West Virginia in November of 2014. By January 2015, she was a full-time crewmember and AmeriCorps member at YouthBuild North Central WV and by August an AmeriCorps alumna. Since then, Sharell successfully completed the maximum allowed four-year term with AmeriCorps and has traveled the United States sharing her story and leadership skills with other young leaders across the world. She withheld a position on the Young Leaders Council for YouthBuild USA, Starbucks Opportunity Youth Leadership Council, and is now a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Now an AmeriCorps alumnus, Sharell has also obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Political Science from West Virginia University, studied the Arabic language, and plans to attend WVU’s graduate program in Public Administration and/or Law. In her new role at Philanthropy WV, Sharell is responsible for supporting membership services, programming and operations. She is a mother to three children—Nehemiah, Saniah, and Jaidyn Harmon and currently resides in Elkins, WV.
Chad Matlick –Chad Matlick, a Palmyra, Pennsylvania native, graduated with his Bachelor and Master of Arts in English from West Virginia University. During his time at WVU, Chad began working for West Virginia Public Broadcasting (WVPB), which started a 25-year-long tenure at the organization. His positions evolved throughout his career, and most recently Chad served as the Director of Digital Services. In this role, he programmed, administered and supported all of WVPB’s digital channels, including numerous websites, social media channels, streaming media platforms, newsletters and mobile applications. In Chad’s new role at Philanthropy West Virginia, he is responsible for day-to-day operations, strategy implementation and revenue generation to advance Philanthropy WV’s vision and mission. Chad currently resides in Morgantown with his wife, Chris.
